First Ride: Maxxis Highroller III Tire - DH Race Ready
@Muckal: Winter is a season- not a temperature. 5-8C above 0. There is a huge difference in tire grip and compliance at 25C compared to 7C. The laws of physics dictate that any rubber compound will get harder as the temperature gets lower. Below zero though, well, good luck to ya on the ice. That's what Schwalbe Ice Spikes are for and MaxxGrip won't save you there.

First Ride: Maxxis Highroller III Tire - DH Race Ready
@SimonJaeger: Hmmm, MaxxGrip works great in the cold. Its definitely the go to winter tire here in Vancouver. Usually around 5-8C and wet. They just seem to jive with our dirt, rocks and roots better than anything else. Obviously, conditions vary from region to region, so its hard to make any blanket statements about tires.

Grouse Mountain to Launch Lift-Accessed Bike Park in 2025
Buddy, go to an old growth forest in BC and stand next to an 800 year old tree and try not to become a tree hugger yourself. Sorry, just a bit set off by the derogatory use of treehugger haha. Trees are the best. Unfortunately ancient trees are not a renewable resource. Anyways, I don't think there is much in the way of old growth to protect on the North Shore of Vancouver. Sadly, the giant trees were nearly all cut down in the early 1900s, which I reckon makes for easier trail building.

Forget E-Bikes, the Dnsys Exoskelton Motorizes Your Body
My pregnant wife needs these! Also, these would just be awesome to help out people with hip issues and that kinda thing. I wonder if they would actually work and be comfortable. I kind of doubt it… E-pants have been a running joke in my circle for years now. Stoked to see its finally happening hahha. Pedal bikes (and walking) ain’t dead!!

PNW Components Releases $199 Range Dropper Post & Lever Package
@red-wood: I agree for gravel it would be nice. Routing a drop bar frame isn't so easy and if your taking an old bike and building it into a gravel bike then the routing is super hard.

First Ride: Ibis Ripmo - Now With Downtube Storage & Mixed Wheel Compatibility
Yeah, but thank the baby jesus it isn't NX! Deore shifts like a champ. Its heavy as a tank, but as parts wear out you can replace them with lighter stuff. The crazy thing to me is that the hubs are the same across all builds. And, yeah, that Z1 would be up for sale before I left the shop.

First Ride: Ibis Ripmo - Now With Downtube Storage & Mixed Wheel Compatibility
Is it not the case that DW link isn't the most plush suspension kinematic generally? Seems to be usually be biased towards climby smooth trail sort of bikes. Or maybe I'm over generalizing?

Pretty good spec on the lower end bikes I think. Good brake spec. Pretty nice looking frame actually. Good work. I wonder how these ride on the jank of the North Shore.
