Adrien Boichis Will Not Compete for 2026 Overall Titles at Final XC World Cup Races
Maybe it's time for someone to challenge the UCI's control over professional mountain biking? Maybe this is where Lifetime is going? XC is a growth sport; anyone associated with NICA can see it. As more and more kids come out of high school having raced, there will be more and more fans looking for events and riders to follow (as well as to race). There is a vacuum of coverage and events, and UCI with it's eurocentricity is blind to the possibilities in North America.

Video: One Bike, Two Races - Matthew Fairbrother's First Downieville Classic
Excellent video. I live near Downieville and ride it 5 or 6 times a year, but this was my first year racing it. It was by far the best race event I have ever attended. The XC race is strangely addictive to think about: tires, bike set-up, travel, pacing. It requires so much of a rider! I wish more "XC" events were this challenging technically. Already making plans for next year!
