PRESS RELEASE: X-Fusion Shox

We are excited to announce that Tom van Steenbergen will be joining the X-Fusion team in 2020. Although Tom is just 23 years old, he is considered a seasoned veteran in the freeride world with a Best Trick and back to back podiums at Red Bull Rampage.

For 2020, Tom will be working on various video projects along with hosting his own invitational slopestyle event at Big White and competing at Rampage. We couldn't be more excited to support Toms's efforts and watch as his year unfolds.

Tom, from Vernon, BC had this to say about partnering up with X-Fusion.

bigquotesI'm stoked to be working with X-Fusion from now on. I spent a month testing the suspension at Cam Zink's compound and Dark Fest before I signed the contract. The suspension is such an important part of the bike and I had to make sure it was exactly what I needed. I'm beyond stoked to be riding for them in 2020 and beyond!Tom van Steenbergen

Yes Walmart sells the carbon adult bike for under a grand. He could drop in at Rampage on it with his skills after all we see him ride ridiculous lines and Cave Man moves. Duse is harder than Chuck Norris

@madmon: Have you ever seen an actual Hyper downhill bike, not the "prototype" but one sold to a regular person?
  • 2 4
@fruitsd79: no, I think he'll still ride the Trek like other semi sponsored riders out there, just commenting on the dude's skillz

@fruitsd79: There is a dude and his kids who have Hypers at Snow Summit. I see them every year.

Guessing he's going to get easy access to spare parts... i can't even get a simple lockout lever for my forks after the original worked it's self loose on the way to the trail without getting ridden.

I can't find an RV1 fork for sale except on ebay.

@fruitsd79: www.upgradebikes.co.uk/Catalogue/Forks/X-Fusion/2018-and-Pria/RV1-26-275 you can find new model with black stanchions from German seller as well, just not for such a good price. Still cheaper than boxxer select here though bikemarkt.mtb-news.de/en/article/1254663-x-fusion-rv1-hlr-roughcut-27-5-200mm-black-stanchions

Why bother doing the press release in America when there’s no distributor here for any Americans to buy the products?
  • 2 3
@fruitsd79: chill bro I meant xfusion
  • 1 0
@fruitsd79: hahaha f*ck this was good. haha
  • 4 3
Yo if you’re going to downvote me tell me where the us distributors are for xfusion I’ll wait. It’s going to be a while, there are none because they all closed in 2016.

@TheSlayer99: they’re located in Reno Nevada. Google it ya skaliwag!
  • 4 0
@Xc2dh1: upvote for use of skaliwag
  • 1 2
@TheSlayer99: downvotes because, well , you seem to care lol
  • 2 1
@Xc2dh1: neither company seems to care about selling the products he is riding. seems really odd.
  • 1 1
@fruitsd79: probably a tax write off. That’s why GE has a hydro company. Then they can show losses and get huge corporate tax write offs....

Is hyper the same brand that makes the Wally carbon HT?
  • 1 0
 thats one clean looking bike

This guy needs a better manager.
  • 1 0
Why? He seems to be doing alright for himself.
  • 1 2
@geeKayy: I am sure he is, but is brands suck way more than he does. Riding a bike that doesn’t even exist, for a brand that doesn’t even make MTB with the least recognized suspension platform. He has a really shitty brand identity, that won’t help with people’s perceptions.... hopefully he is getting better contracts from these marginal brands that he would with more recognizable name.
