Trek Session 9.9 DH 27.5 - Review
Treks always look absolutely beautiful, but they seem almost as reluctant as Spesh to adopt new-skool tube numbers. I rode a 2017 Session in XL and it felt like BMX sized. I'm 6'2" so tallish, but hardly a giant and although I can't remember the specific reach number, I would have wanted it to be at least 3 sizes bigger. This looks on paper to be a little closer to that, but still not suitable for riders much over 6'

Urge To Race EWS - Video
@j-t-g: hah, I was actually being generous with figures. In reality, I suspect it's more like closer to 1000 high end bike sales are required to recoup the costs of running a 4 man EWS team (plus mechanic and manager). It just seems like a financial loser

Urge To Race EWS - Video
Some rough maths: RRP mean average of a RM bike roughly $4000 Trade/distribution price roughly $2000 Cost price to RM after parts, build labour, logistics and other overheads roughly $1000 So let's say they clear $1000 in profit average per bike. To break even on a $500,000 marketing project, they'd need to sell 500 bikes with an average retail price of $4000. Just doesn't seem like much of a return. I also don't think that the costs of running a 4 man team would be any cheaper than 4 times the cost of a 1 man team. Plane tickets, hotel rooms, bikes and kit - you don't get bulk buy discounts for any of them. You might save a few quid on hire cars, but that's about it

Urge To Race EWS - Video
Serious question: how the hell does RM financially justify a 4 man EWS team? I'd estimate that must cost in the region of half a million bucks

Syncros Matchbox Tailor HV1.5 Bottle Cage – Review
A bottle cage that doesn't have a one-piece band round the top - mmmm, I doubt it will hold on to a full bottle of water through rowdy riding

Truvativ Announces New Descendant 35mm Handlebars, Stem
Can I just say publicly that I fully expect a mid-width bar standard coming very soon. Just like when we were told that 29ers were great only to quickly back track (when it became clear that the early ones sucked) and introduce the mid-size wheel 27. So something like 33mm bars will probably air soon....
