@hamncheez: I on the other hand would take 1kg or 1.5kg added weight for a 900wh or 1000wh battery. Often times I'm running the wild on trail mode and have to charge the bike during lunch. 7000 ft on a full battery is not enough. One day we will have 9000 ft range bikes under 45 lbs.

Are the current offerings with two piston and four piston calipers not enough? What has changed for there to make a more complex part that has more parts that will fail? I am not hating on these, just wondering what changed to make the Hope V4's not adequate anymore?

Honda Announces eMTB With New Shimano Motor
It was me, I designed it. I was dreaming of this bike for many years now. In 2008 I bought a used specilized FSR for $500. I was a recent college graduate, coming off the XC running team, I was in great shape. Today, I am 50 lbs heavier and wanted that FSR bike but with a motor. I prayed to God daily, please please please make me a motorized FRS. Today it was delivered. I am in fact waiting in line at Honda to get one of these bikes. @gtill9000: I believe in capitalism for all. The retiring owner can sell to whoever they want to. We the consumers at the same time can choose to buy from whoever we want to. Capitalism! If we want to know what companies are private equity and not taking the brand and workers as stake holders, then we can choose not to buy from them. They have to sell to us to survive, we don't have to buy from them to survive. We the consumers have the power to force the hand of the business. Taking money out of my community and moving it to NYC, no thanks.

@jackfunk: The comment about the job loss I agree with and getting laid off sucks, having been laid off last year. To reduce job losses, we have to put the employees as a stake holder. Private equity sucks all of the wealth out of a business. The brand, the consumers, the employees are not necessarily cared about. Businesses that care about their employees and consumers and see them as stake holders need to be supported with our buying habits. Private equity has shown repeatedly that they don't care about anyone or anything as long as they can squeeze as much value out of the brand and then dump it.

We, the consumers, need a list of private equity owned bike brands and those owned by publicly traded companies and those privately owned by individual person. Then we can make an informed choice what brand we want to spend money on.

"Safety First": Todd Barber Addresses Backlash Over 2026 Red Bull Rampage Cancellation
I am armchair quarter backing this and support the decisions made. Seems like the athletes had a say, and I can wait until 2027 to see them send it. Sending my respect to all thr athletes and crew that worked to make this happen. I enjoyed the runs that got completed.
