4 Things We Learned from the Loudenvielle DH World Cup
the pro riders are paid a salary by their team and often sponsors pay bonuses for wins. the race payout is not how they pay the bills.

@dtheio: you can slow down much faster on road than on dirt. there's far more grip on asphalt.

Boulder County Proposes Major Trail Restrictions for Mountain Bikers
@dthomp325: the only good trails in boulder are on USFS land where boulder county can't do anything about it.
jeffco's county managed trails are still significantly better and much more friendly to mountain bikers.

Revenue Roundup: Giant & Merida Revenues Down, But It's Not All Doom & Gloom
Bicycle Retailer covered this and had statements from Giant that said that CBP has not been to their factories or contacted them in anyway to conduct an investigation.
Giant has very high standards and runs a tight ship. I'm sure whatever is going on will be addressed immediately. Other articles noted that there was a journalist investigation who found that they use recruiters to recruit foreign laborers, which is a common practice in taiwan, and that those recruiters charge a fee, which was being paid by the employee. Since that investigation, Giant changed their practices to pay the fee on the employees behalf, back at the start of 2025.
None of the other companies that were found to use this same practice (Shimano, Maxxis, etc) have been blocked by CBP.

British Cycling Limits Transgender Women Competing in Female Categories
seemingly not. as a female competitor for over a decade, i can say whole heartedly that I have never been robbed of a placing or victory by a trans woman. women's racing is not and has never been "dominated by trans women" like this comment section seems to purport.
