Downhill Steed.

I only got back into riding bikes in april this year, after a 4 year hiatus consisting of losing interest in dirt jumping/street and getting a car.
Basically i forgot how fun it was after i bought a bmx with the intentions of getting back into riding BMX in the local park and discovering BMX's are way too small for a 6ft 3 guy weighing in at 20 stone lol.
Not long after i picked up a specialized pitch to get back into riding a bit of cross country/downhill/freeride/dj etc etc, basically a bike i could paddle my feet into everywhere with and its a right beast of a bike, cant handle the extremes of everything but hey, its helped me get down to 16 stone and re establish my love for riding, i dont think im ever going to sell this bike!
i've mainly found a love for freeride/downhill but with me living where I do there isnt really anything to justify a dedicated downhill bike but i want something else i can ride which can handle more than my pitch, and so that im not afraid of something breaking when i start really hammering down the trails (which was becoming a problem :/)
If your local to me within an hour and you read this, id appreciate it if you got in touch and gave me some guidance in what to look for in a downhill bike and good local known and not so known areas! example is ive not long found out about carlton DH besides living 5 minutes away from it for 21 years!
I've currently been eyeing up giant glory's, worth the money?
