Privateer Bikes Launch Gen 2 Privateer 141 & 161
This bike is pure function over form. Has loads of super well thought out features - external cable routing, size-specific chainstays, durable bearings, easy adjustments, predictable kinematics, etc. etc. - but looks... divisive. I'd totally shell out for this bike if I had the cash but I can imagine why others won't. That said, it's kinda ironic that the same people mad about headset cable routing and form over function react so negatively to a bike like the Privateer Gen 2, which is ugly but very functional.

Privateer Bikes Launch Gen 2 Privateer 141 & 161
@asphaltsucks: Rear axle is attached to seatstay on the Privateer, not the chainstay. Compare this to a true linkage-driven SP like a Kona, where the rear axle is attached to the chainstay.

Throwback Thursday: 7 Bikes Turning 10 in 2024
That Foes FFR prototype is a missed opportunity. The closest we ever came to the Baja trucks of mountain bikes.

Field Test Review: 2024 Pole Onni - In the Eye of the Beholder
Amen. Having recently started riding steel bikes again, I can definitely say the comfort and tracking of a softer bike is very real. YMMV if you're a 7ft, 300lb racer.

First Look: Pole Bicycles' Four New Long-Travel Models
So both bikes have up to 200mm of travel, identical head angle ranges and very similar geo, as well as similar kinematics. I don't see the point in the Onni. Shit, the Voima even has longer chainstays than the Onni, so in some ways, it's actually more of a DH bike than the Onni is.

Bike Check: Sam Blenkinsop's Crestline RS 205 VHP
Hayes sells a short lever. I think it would help with getting a shorter lever pull

HQ Tour: Suspension Tech International's NZ-Made Coil Shock
@NikBNZ: Yeah, what you're saying makes a lot of sense. Still, it would be nice to have your shock serviced, revalved, rebuilt to fit different eye-to-eyes (as Suspension Tech claims they can do), etc. without having to send it all the way to NZ. If you order something from Suspension Tech, you probably won't have many problems since you live in NZ, but the rest of us will have to deal with issues like international shipping fees and long wait times.

HQ Tour: Suspension Tech International's NZ-Made Coil Shock
Always good to see a new player, but I wouldn't feel comfortable paying top dollar for one of these unless Suspension Tech has good distributor support a la EXT or Vorsprung.
