@succulentsausage: That's what happens when you get someone like Chris Ball to run the show - he just gives all the jobs to his buddies. If it wasn't for nepotism, Ric never would have became a commentator. His skill (or lack thereof) speaks for itself. Ric would have been fine as a stopgap measure during the first two years of DH broadcasting while WB Discovery looked for a competent commentator. But not only has WB not found anybody to replace him with after FOUR years, Ric's commentary skills haven't reached an adequate level either. Check the commentary for literally any other niche sport, be it darts or college club sport triathlons; they are all better than DH's. Everyone knew that it was going to be hard to fill Rob Warner's shoes, but literally *nobody* is happy with Ric's performance. Despite nobody liking him in the booth, Ric is allowed to continue fumbling his commentary every race weekend. It's incredibly frustrating (not to mention bad for the sport) when an organizing body appears to care this little about the voice of their sport.
