Nov 1, 2024Trek Rail 9 GX - Only done 173 miles!
$2800 GBPSadly selling my Rail 9 as I haven't had chance to use it anywhere near as much as I hoped and it's just too good to be sat in the garage getting cobwebs on it. I bought it brand new in December 22 and since then it's only been ridden a total of 173 miles, which is almost embarrassing to write! It's an absolutely amazing bike, easily my favourite I've owned, but three kids and work and living quite far from any trails doesn't equal mountain bike fun much anymore :-(
It's as it left the shop except for some upgraded cockpit bits;
Bars - Renthal Fatbar Carbon (cut by the shop to 780mm)
Stem - Renthal Apex
Grips - DMR Deathgrip
Pedals - Hope F20
Everything is in perfect shape, the frame has a few marks on it which are pictured - in particular there is one near the bottom of the down tube from a stone chip, and a bit of a patch on the top tube where I had the battery for my light strapped to the bike - it seemed pretty well protected but it has got scratched underneath the velcro strap.
The frame has a lifetime warranty when registered, which I never got round to doing, so I guess the new owner will be able to register that and have that too :-)

Sep 29, 2019Orange Five Factory
$3000 GBPLarge 2020 Orange Five Factory. Has only been used 6 times, ridden maybe 30 miles total. It's been gathering cobwebs for the last couple of months and it feels criminal to have a bike of this calibre just sitting there not being used so it's going to go to someone who will use it. It's an absolute weapon this thing, such a fun bike.
Build is £6100 new so it's a bargain at £3000. The bike is as it was the day I bought it, except from having brand new DMR Deathgrip grips on it (the standard Orange ones are pants)
Spec is;
Frame; Orange Five, Large, Cyan
Shock; Fox Float DPX2 Factory
Fork; Fox 36 Factory (orange)
Bars; Burgtec RW Carbon Enduro (800mm)
Stem; Burgtec
Grips; DMR Deathgrip
Brakes; Hope Tech3 E4 front and rear, in orange
Wheels; Stans Flow with orange graphics, on orange Hope Pro4 hubs
Tyres; Maxxis Minion 3C
Drivetrain; SRAM XO Eagle 12speed, carbon Descendant cranks
Pedals; Hope F20 flats, orange
Seatpost; Fox Transfer

Inside Cube Bikes
I dunno... the operation looks impressive, but have you ever sat on a Cube full suspension bike? To me they feel terrible - the sizing is all over the place, geo is just weird on some of them, and somehow even though most of their bikes are really well specced for the price, they still look really cheap... not that looking inexpensive is a real problem, but it sort of is if you're spending thousands. Also, I hope they stop making anything other than frames themselves - felt a Cube dropper post? Jeeeeesus.... That said I hope they put out some decent stuff soon though because their operation seems pretty cool and the more good bikes out there the better :-)

Yeah I think it is, a lot of other European countries run them like yours, but I've never seen any UK rider have them that way round. Weird eh! The brakes were Avid Codes... I'd steer clear of them if I were you. Maybe I just had a bad set but they were really lame, I changed them to Hope V2's and the difference is unbelievable!
