With all the crashes listed today are there alternates ready to tackle the challenge or too late into the game?

First Ride: 2022 Specialized Stumpjumper EVO Alloy - Adaptability Meets Affordability
@Saidrick: Not saying that am SB66 is bad. But yeti are prime examples of trying new suspension designs to get the most out of the bike. Yeas bike companies want to sell more bikes. But no MTB's weren't perfected in 2011. I think durability is often over looked when remembering older bikes. My evo has needed minimal maintenance compared to some older bikes and it has been on much rougher trails. Wear parts will always wear, bad decisions always lead to broken parts, but overall the ability for a "trail" bike to be ridden almost anywhere now is fairly amazing.

Surprising amount of tubeless in there this year. Also Szymon has more pressure in his tires than I run on my " gravel" bike. At what point are the rims/tires at higher risk from too much pressure rather than a snake bite?

The Pinkbike Podcast: Episode 85 - Is the Red Bull Rampage Too Slopestyle?
Great pod cast many good points. I think the thing inherent with any big competition is the risk involved in doing this amazingly scary thing right now. I think it was mentioned previously in a documentary but the pressure to “send it” even if the line isn’t quite done and the wind is not ideal, and your injuries are affecting you, is fairly prominent. When there is a helicopter, an announcer, and the world watching live, riders may not be having the best risk vs reward assessment in their mind. Likey where veterans shine vs first timers. Huge respect to Antoine Bizet from a few years ago calling it quits and riding down with his pack on after assessing the risk of a second run.

Also the comp carbon this year was full slx. Which would compare favourably to the nx.

Honestly I am impressed with the Rhythm that is on my comp. It has done super well on almost everything. Only place it seemed a bit out of sorts is rough high speed off camber. But I also run it with less pressure then suggested so that could be on me. Seems like a great option. Price creep hurts as my carbon comp last fall was just over $5000 Canadian.

Bike Check: Cody Kelley's Specialized Stumpjumper Slalom Bike - Sea Otter 2021
@FR33DOMdotCOM: I would be surprised if he was running tubes, but not sure the valve would seal if was tubeless without tension on it. It is likely because he is cornering so hard in left hand turns that it is forcing the nut loose.
