@gcrider: JR wasn't off course due to Blunk falling into her. It was Blunks line and Rissveds simply rode too agressively

@edspratt: If she had made the move to avoid the crash she would have gone off the track to avoid it, not crashed into Bliunk.

@fred-frod: The crash is all on Rissveds. It's not like she is a 12 yo going for a gap on their first race. Blunk was always going for the line (and had the line) and was ahead in the first lap of a race and Rissveds decides to chop her. I'm a fan of Rissveds but have always noticed she doesn't mind making some super aggressive moves (most would call chopping off). Let's see if there is a change in the pack now and that other riders just chop her off and don't car about the consequences. Have a look at the video after she does this, no concern.

So, A down hiller (Jackson Goldstone, leaves the course in the last DH WC and is DSQ) and in this event, an XC rider on the first lap chops off another rider and then leaves the course and isn't DSQ and goes onto win the race. That stinks and consistency is needed.

@iamamodel: From the entry lists provided by pinkbike looks like a combined women's field of 62 + 51 = 113. Men's combined field of 79 + 85 = 164 which is approx 45% extra. Maths, not sexism - again.

@sjma: Or even every other Summer Olympics in Athens... Would be a great way to prop up the Greek economy and then every 8 years another country gets an opportunity.

On others comments regarding only 38 entrants per race Great to see 2 PRC (China) athletes listed there.... Female entrant with a UCI ranking of 135 in 2020 with nothing this year... Male no ranking? Same for Namibia - Male - ranked 112 in 2020 and 693 in 2021 (possibly injured?) Female 106 in 2020 and nothing in 2021?

Think the councillor may be generalising a little about the "average demographic" of mountain bikers who tend not to be into "grooming"
