Friday Randoms: Crankworx Whistler 2016
@chillrider199: I've recently been inside their facility and watched the wheels being built in all the various hub & rim combinations, it's not just the Enve/I9 combos. My experience with the wheels is that they are very solid and great hub/rim value at each of their price points. Just saw a pretty nice new Ibis come with Sta Tru hubs and they were on their 3rd freehub in a month. I haven't had to do a single wheel tension or hub service to a customers Santa Cruz bike within the 1st year of use ever.

@Racer951: Should check out how competitive the kits and prices are on the new '17 Santa Cruz lineup? Had a customer heading towards a YT bike, however new 17 Bronson alloy S kit w/ 1x, Pike, Reverb & *hand built wheels was only a couple hundred dollars more than similar spec YT when I provided a small amount of good customer pricing. Also, our shop just donated a $1000 us dollars for the local trail building............... does YT or Canyon do that? *All wheel options from Santa Cruz are hand built on their in house wheel line.

Scott Spark RC Custom Build

$2499 USD
Bike shop owners personal custom built Scott Spark RC. It's seen very limited use and is in excellent condition with a few small nicks on non drive side seat stay and some nicks on the crank arms. I haven't had this bike out on a legitimate trail ride since 2013 and it's seen so little use that the original chain only measures .75 with Park chain checker. 2012 Scott RC Frame 26" - Size large HMX Frame and Swingarm w/ IDS SL dropout 142x12. Fox Factory 32 Float CTD 120mm with 15mm thru axle fork. FIT damper. Kashima coat. American Classic MTB Race Tubeless Wheelset 1361g. 28mm wide rim provides tremendous strength and performance. Current setup is tubeless SRAM XX Crankset 39/26 175mm Bottom Bracket - SRAM PFBB92 Shifters - SRAM XX Front Derailleur - SRAM XO Rear Derailleur - SRAM X0 Cassette - SRAM PG1070 11-36 Brakes - Shimano XT with Icetech rotors and pads. Front rotor 180mm and rear 160mm Seatpost - New 2015 Rock Shox Reverb. Handlebar - Loaded X-Lite carbon. 133g, 680mm with 15mm rise and 9 degree sweep (wider bars available) Stem - FSA OS-150 90mm (shorter stem lengths available) Grips - Lizard Skins DSP Tires - Schwalbe Nobby Nic (not shown) and Maxxis Ardent Fox CTD Dual Lever - 3 position lever controls both front and rear with climb, trail and descend modes. Rear shock is fully locked out in climb mode. Pedals - Not Included The stock RC went for $6500 and this is definitely an upgrade with the Fox Factory CTD fork, AC wheelset, Shimano Ice Tech brakes and Reverb post. The bike is tuned perfect and absolutely 100%.

Yeti SB75 - Review
Did you not hear them say the SB75 was the most fun bike they tested all day, it just wasn't as good as the SB66. Unfortunately the bike bible guys didn't understand what they were testing and rather than more clearly inform the viewer the SB75 was excellent compared to the other bikes they tested that day, they compared it to the SB66 which is apples to oranges.

Pinkbike Product Picks
The person that rides a different category of bike and clothes that function best for that type of riding is not the enemy. I'll pedal any bike with whatever functional clothes available with a smile on my face.
