I like your idea better though. Top 30 Q1 and 10 Q2 , for Elite men 30 is not enough IMHO but it was also 30 last year.., but I think 50 in previous years.

Pretty hard for privateers unless they can afford to go to all the races, points are skewed on the basis that you can’t earn a lot of points if you don’t attend every race, More than likely the ones with the most points also attended all the races.
