I think because square is weaker and heavier? If you're thinking square is just easier to get the seat pointed straight ahead, I don't think that's a very big problem for the average rider.

@Canadmos: all rotors will warp slightly just in the course of normal riding. Not to mention they might be slightly out of true straight from the box. I have had TRP DHR evo’s and Hayes Dominion with Galfer 2.0mm rotors. I do spend a considerable amount of time tweaking things to keep things aligned and not rubbing. Sometimes it’s just a matter of using the park tool rotor bending tool to manual correct a slight rotor bend.

@gregnangatang: I had a seemingly minor dislocation of my left index finger. No broken bone and started doing physical therapy fairly quickly. That finger hurt for months. It's fine a few years later, but not the same as it was. Fingers are tricky fuckers.
