Pinkbike Poll: How Do You Prefer to Get to the Top of a Descent?
Why are we downvoting this? He rides an ebike with the motor off! I personally don’t want one but I used to have a friend tow me to the top with his dirt bike. Sure there is a deeper debate about ebikes at play here but he’s got a point about chairlifts.

Pinkbike Poll: How Do You Prefer to Get to the Top of a Descent?
I did a hill climb competition once, it was a serious workout, a good grind. I was channeling my inner roadie and cranking up that mountain. When I got to the top everyone was cheering and patting each other on the back. I thought “I made it!” I even finished top 20! Then I had this overwhelming feeling that I had somehow been deprived of a great prize. The rest of the day I felt off somehow. That was the moment that I had confirmed to my soul something I already knew. I am a mountain biker. A cross country rider, a trail rider, enduro, freeride and downhill. I go up to go down. I love a good climb but there is no way that is the end of the ride. I don’t care how I get to the top (usually pedal) but we all do it for a reason, to go down!

Giro Introduces Renew Series Made of Recycled Material - Sea Otter 2019
We also drink water out of all kinds of plastic bottles/bags which can put chemicals directly into our blood stream. Microplastics and other nasty stuff leeched into us from our clothes is probably a ways down the priority list.

Interview: The Athertons - "If People Want Gee’s Fort William Race Bike, We Can Make it for Them"
@athertonbikes: You guys pretty much just blew our minds. I don't think we saw this coming. And this is a cooler outcome than all the other options. I'll buy one.

Pinkbike Awards: Athlete of the Year Winner
@chriskneeland: Unless you want to go uphill fast, then it would be XC. The skills for each discipline are too different to make that statement. The pinnacle of mountain bike racing is mountain bike racing. If you can race a world cup level race in any discipline I am impressed by you.

Pinkbike Awards: Athlete of the Year Winner
@WAKIdesigns: You are spot on at the skills of these guys, as shown by Maes jumping into DH and killing it. As much as we would all be glued to our screens to watch a big name rider switch from XC or road to EWS, the training and skillset needed are just too specific. The more I watch the EWS riders the more impressed I am by them. I think the more likely successful scenario would be an EWS rider jumping into XC and doing well. Good job Maes, you totally deserved this!

Tenneco Inc. Buys Öhlins Racing
@OhlinsMTB: That’s really cool and I am glad the company is doing well. Thanks for the info. My dad’s name is Kenneth, he is a machinist, and they are the same age so the more I read the more intrigued I become. We have an awsome sport!

Tenneco Inc. Buys Öhlins Racing
@friendlyfoe: Yeah, I realize that. I think you make a good point though, Mr Ohlin is potentially looking at retirement (or partial-retirement)? And is transitioning his business to the next phase. I was more worried that something will come out down the road that: "Oh, by the way, our business is really struggling and we sold it before we had to close..." which of course we never like to hear but is way too common (RaceFace, Manitou, etc). I also have to admit that I am always a little starstruck by having an actual conversation with someone like RC:) who I have idolized for a long time as a heavy hitter in the mountain bike community and just a really cool guy! (RC, we've met a few times over the years). There, I said it out loud!:)

Tenneco Inc. Buys Öhlins Racing
@RichardCunningham: Thanks for the insight! The mountain bike community is pretty tight (at least we act like it is) and even our biggest companies barely register on the international corporate scale. I guess we are all a little nervous from past experiences with large conglomerates buying well liked smaller companies. Marzocchi had some problems before so maybe it was an exception but do you have any insider or industry thoughts on how Ohlins will turn out? Were there problems within the company that led to this? Or was the move one of a company that truly just needed better corporate management? The press release above is pretty politically neutral. On a different, but related note, I have wanted to ask you for a long time about what happened to Mantis in the end? After you sold it? They were so cool for their time. I would love to collect one.
