I do have a Trek Road bike I'm real happy with but Specialized makes my fav bikes.

Agree'd. I switched from an Optic which was great the 2-3 times a year I make it to Copper Harbor or Duluth, and onto to a flex stay Stumpy. The Stumpy is actually 5mm more, but with the flip chip in high and the a more XC build (Zipp Hitop Wheels and more "Downcountry" tires) it's easily 3 or 4 lbs lighter then my Optic was.
Great for my average Indiana riding and places like Brown County or Griffin Bike Park. Still enough travel to get me out of trouble and ride up North or even in the real mountains, but plenty fast on my local XC trails.

The optic was a great bike, I actually sold mine and went to a Stumpy 21-23 though which was a better all rounder for my midwest trails with lots of miles.

Mountain Bikes From the Past 7 Years That We'd Still Happily Ride
Just picked up one last fall and I'm in love with it. Will be keeping it for a long time. The only bikes coming out I'm interested in are pretty much the same thing. Lighter duty short to medium travel trail bikes.

One Less Battery: Fox's E-Optimized Transfer Neo Dropper Hardwires Directly Into an E-Bike
I wish they'd do this with regular droppers. I'd love to store the battery in my swat box to get rid of that stupid battery on the collar. Same for the Rockshox Reverb.
