What Exactly Is "Outdated" Mountain Bike Geometry?
I remember those days. The head tube angle of my trail bike was 68. It caused me to go OTB over a small rock. If I had a 66 degree angle and 2.6” tires I could’ve avoided the whole incident.

What Exactly Is "Outdated" Mountain Bike Geometry?
The bike engineers are pigeon holed. If they don’t keep making bikes longer and slacker then bike reviewers will say the bike is bad. Also why should a biker have to spend time getting better at descending when they can just buy it? Get the latest down country bike with DH tires then shred the gnar of their 300 feet of elevation local loop.

Interview: Bryn Atkinson & Shimano Product Manager Nick Murdick on Developing Drivetrains, Feedback, & Gearboxes
The sentiment here is the exact opposite of the roadie/ gravel community on Reddit. The ”riders” on there cry and scream nonstop about how AXS is so much better. Yet out of all the people I know who are actual riders and not just people who buy expensive bikes. Almost all of them prefer mechanical.

Video: Brice Shirbach Rides Marquette, Michigan in 'Underexposed'
Yeah Marquette blows everyone should visit the much better trails in SE Michigan. Definitely don’t go to Marquette where a wild dancing bear will attack unprovoked.

Video: Specialized Epic 8 vs Pinarello Dogma XC - World Cup & Olympic Medal Winning Bikes Compared
@tommyrod74: couldn’t have said it better myself. 80% of the riders in America can’t justify a 66 degree head angle bike. Yet every XC bike is expected to come with that. Or else pink bike gives it a bad review. My Jeffsy from 5 years ago has a steeper head tube angle than most modern XC bikes. I greatly prefer bike geo from the late 2010s. Local Strava times agree with me.

First Ride: The 2025 Specialized Stumpjumper Has a New Dual Chamber Air Shock
@flipjohnson: I was responding to the boy with an adult wallet that spent $6k on an aluminum bike with mechanical shifting. I can’t believe what people will spend their money on.
