Couldn't agree more. I was 100% thinking about x-games. I wonder if they brought in dark fest like jumps and had a tech (like rails) then big air section. Freestyle skiing went through it as well.

UCI & Warner Bros. Discovery Release 2023 World Cup and EWS Calendar
I still don't get why Discovery bothered. They are in the middle of a messy merger with all of the Warner Media content and busily reducing the HBO content. I guess sports content is sports content, but it's a shame that this happened, even worse if it happened before all of the mess and now it'll end up being a true trash fire.

Dumpster Fire Racing is Coming to an EWS Near You - Catching Up With Mitch Ropelato
Agree about the talent. I remember seeing him rip down the GS course at a US Open a few years back. I've never seen anyone scrub and carry speed through jumps like he did. Super happy to see him fully committing to the EWS.
