Ever since we ran our "Win Casey Groves' Bike" contest last year, people have been asking us to run a contest where the prize is a trip to camp. So we came up with the First Annual "Be the COC Intern" Contest. To enter the "Be The COC Intern" contest, make a short video showing the lengths you would go to be "The COC Intern” this summer. Use your brain and don't do anything that could cause injury or death etc, etc, as COC and its sponsors are not responsible for your safety. Post it into the "
COC Intern Contest" video category on Pinkbike. The more you make us laugh, showing your dedication to biking, willingness to be doing dumb stuff for laughs and how bad you want to come to camp, the better.
If you don't have a sense of humor, or are under 16, please don't enter. On June 10th, the videos with the most favorites, will be in the finals, and The Camp of Champions staff will chose "The COC Intern" for 2010 from one of the videos. The prize could be worth over $10,000.
More inside,
Your Summer Part I - Do Intern WorkAs "The COC Intern", your job at camp will be to help The Camp of Champions be the best bike camp anywhere. You will be doing important things to help COC run smoothly. Things like helping clean The Dorms and Compound, making sure campers have a good time, meeting people at the airport, helping people with their bags, washing bikes, digging dirt jumps, that type of stuff.
Your Summer Part II - Make Us Laugh, Ride Lots, Learn LotsSome of the time though... we will tell you to do dumb things that you will have to do, just to entertain us and make us laugh. That means you will have to do ANYTHING that is asked of you, no matter how dumb. Most of the time though you’ll be riding one of our super dope camp bikes, Transition TR450's, Banshee Legend Mark II's, Morewood Makulu's or Santa Cruz V-10's in the Whistler Bike Park or our NS and Spank bikes in The Air Dome or in our private Dirt Jumps, Mulch Pit and perfect 40 foot wide miniramp. Every day you'll also be getting one-on-one coaching from Greg Watts, Andrew Taylor, Gareth Dyer, Mike Montgomery, Alan Hepburn, Casey Groves, Kelly McGarry, Andi Wittmann, Mike Hopkins, Mason Mashon, Darcy Turenne, Ryan Barrecloth, Tammy Donohugh, ChoCho, Geoff Gulevich, Jack Fogelquist, Bethany Parsons, Katie Holden, and believe it or not, others. You’ll also star in "The COC Intern" videos we will be posting randomly on Pinkbike.
Make Your Prize Worth Over $10,000 If you kill it as "The COC Intern", your 8 day session could transform into a 2 week session. Keep killing it and you’ll be here for 3 weeks. If you completely kill it, you'll be here for all four weeks of camp.
Unfortunately "The COC Intern" must be 16 or over, and from North America because we are also getting your plane ticket to Whistler. We can’t afford tickets from Europe. Sorry. If you are from Europe, want to enter and are willing to buy your own plane ticket if you win, please enter. If you kill it working hard to make this summer at COC the best ever, "The COC Intern" prize package could be worth over $10,000.
Become a LegendThe best part of being "The COC Intern" is you will become a Camp of Champions legend and a part of the best camp ever. You'll also make all kinds of connections in the bike industry that could lead to who knows where. You’ll go home with a ton of stuff from the Camp of Champions amazing list of sponsors. You'll have tons of new friends from around the world and memories of the best summer of your life. You will also have new riding skills that will make you unstoppable.
Feeling Lucky? - Friend Us Up For A Chance To Win A SessionIf you don't feel like making a video of yourself being dumb, or you wish you could, but you are under 16,and you want a chance to win an 8 day session at The Camp of Champions, log into your Pinkbike account and simply friend up The Camp of Champions and do the same or add your support to all our sponsors listed below. A summer of making new friends, hanging with and getting coached by the pro riders I see in videos and magazines, learning new tricks, drinking slurpees in the Bike Lounge, playing paintball, chilling in the Compound, playing Rockband on a 2600 watt sound system on a 60" flatscreen, riding private dirt jumps, mulch pit and 40' wide mini ramp, eating at the GLC, playing minigolf, hitting the driving range, playing basketball and dodgeball, hitting the beach..." or would I rather stay home and session my local trails.
