Press Release: Canadian Enduro Welcome to the 2024
We Are One Canadian Enduro League and Championship Presented By Leatt, North America’s premier enduro mountain bike racing league. 2023 was an absolutely massive season, unlocking new destinations and truly seeing how big Enduro racing is in Canada! Enduro is not dead in Canada, and we're on a mission to consolidate event weekends into a big ol' party, keeping the vibes high and the racing tight. Check out below for all the info for 2024!
Registration for 2024 is open and filling quickly! After a hectic 2023 season, the most common thing we heard from riders was that there were too many events - we scoped the calendar and realized that there is literally some type of mountain bike racing every single weekend (many times multiple) from April 25th through to September 30th. Grassroots racing in Canada is exploding, this is why our riders are continually standing on podiums across the world. For 2024, we took a deep dive into the calendar and what our role in Enduro racing is. For 2024, we talked to riders and it was clear that a few bigger, more competitive events (with more prize money), is needed. The Western and Eastern cups proved to be a massive success last year, these are the most competitive regional races, allowing racers to test their skills against the fastest on the east and the west, with the Canadian National Enduro Champs at the end of the enduro season we'll surely see all the top dogs in Canada coming to world-renown Sun Peaks to sample what we think could be one of the best courses in the world. Last year we also learned that while racing requires a lot of focus, it's the vibe that matters, so we've created a full-on festival weekend for every stop. The festivals features events like an Air DH, Slalom's, Uphill Climb challenges and lots of prizes, the goal here being to provide a fun atmosphere for all riders, while giving more intermediate riders a fun way to start building skills. For 2024, the goal is clear, good times, on bikes!
Check out the 2024 season calendar: May 24th - 26th - Kamloops, BC
July 5th - 7th - Revelstoke, BC - Canadian Enduro Western Cup (bonus points, more prize money!)
August 9th - 11th - Bromont, QC - Canadian Enduro Eastern Cup (bonus points, more prize money!)
September 20th - 22nd - Sun Peaks - Canadian National Enduro Championship (bonus points, more prize money!)
Registration is open! Tier 1 pricing is in effect until midnight on Monday the 17th, and it's the cheapest it will be all season. Sign up now and save yourself some dollars, future you will thank you for it.
For 2024, each race will have more! More racing, more fun, more time on the bike. Depending on location and trails, each event weekend will feature an Air DH, Slalom, Hill Climb Challenge, and other festival-style activities. The best part is that the registration fee for the Enduro covers entry to all of these events! Those who raced Sun Peaks last season will remember just how good the weekend was, so we are stoked to be bringing those good times to all events for 2024.
On the back of a hugely successful debut in 2023, the Eastern and Western Cup races will be making a return, being held at Bromont and Revelstoke, respectively. The intention of these cup events is to create a higher-level regional race that attracts more competition and provides a stepping stone from local/grassroots events to the National Championship and beyond. The courses are longer and tougher and will test every aspect of a rider's ability. On the line is higher prize money, but more importantly, the crown of Eastern and Western Cup Champion.
Canadian National Enduro Championship
The biggest enduro race in Canada returns to Sun Peaks! The Sun Peaks Resort is undoubtedly one of our favorite destinations and trail networks. Long climbs, huge descents, and a little chairlift action. It really has it all. With the Champion title and even more prize money, we expect this weekend to be huge. The course last year received rave reviews, and we look to continue our partnership with the local trail club SPRTA and the resort to see what kind of shenanigans we can come up with this year!
We founded Canadian Enduro way back in 2016. We still had 26" wheels, climbed with two helmets, and wore backpacks while racing. Ever since then, we have been producing Canadian National Enduro Championships, including the first-ever Cycling Canada-sanctioned champs in 2019. Last year, we were stoked to co-produce the second-ever sanctioned Champs with the Crankworx team. For 2024, the status of sanctioning is still up in the air, yet we're stoked to be returning the Championship back to Sun Peaks, where it all began in 2016, who knows, maybe we'll even see a few of the old guard return to claim their spots upon the throne!
We're incredibly grateful and could not be prouder to have We Are One continuing as the title sponsor for 2024. The support offered by We Are One to riders, racers, and the Canadian Enduro League is unprecedented in mountain bike racing in Canada and is a testament to their dedication to athlete development, Canadian gravity racing, and, as always, keeping bike riding fun!
Also, returning for 2024, we could not be more excited to have Leatt back on board. Not only is their line of gear second to none, but their support of racers, volunteers, and the Canadian Enduro League has been incredible. Last year, Leatt delivered a whole UPS truck (and we are not even exaggerating here) full of gear for riders, volunteers, and everyone who asked. Riders can expect a whole lot more swag at each and every race.

I appreciated the venture to new venues last year, they were finally within a manageable travel distance from AB, although they were still 6 hour drives each. I get trying to put the time in to venues that are a safer investment given the climate of the industry, but it'd still be cool to see a wildcard venue. Especially given that it's the Canadian Enduro league, not just BC.
A huge part of the draw of the big events for me is getting to meet other riders who enjoy big mountain riding and ride at a similar skill + fitness level as me. It's a pretty niche interest in the wider world, especially out in prairies.
2 things I appreciate about the last couple years though, #1 is the later racing schedule. Having been a post-secondary student made all the events scheduled in the spring impossible, since it's right in the middle of finals, then starting spring courses or summer jobs. The later racing schedule is way easier to manage. #2 is the sponsors. The prizes were a hoot, even if you're not the one getting anything.
All that said, I've never been able to make it out to Sun Peaks, and it always sounds amazing. Hoping to make it out there this year!
is Cycling Canada potentially partnering with a different event for National Championships? 2 Christmas'
Was signed up for a race last year. Came down with COVID , notified the organizers of my dilemma & they refused any kind of refund or credit towards future races. Just took the money & the wind from my sails. Disappointing & definitely put a sour taste in my mouth as I wanted to attend several races, now I don't feel good about giving these folks any of my money. Have heard other reports of these organizers being brutal when it comes to $$. Unfortunate.
These races are not making anyone big bucks, but they provide a massive service to the Enduro scene. The last group was not fiscally responsible and look what happened. I feel bad you lost out, especially if you're at the end of your budget but I understand their point of view.
