Pinkbike Awards: Value Mountain Bike of the Year Winner
Exactly. My choice for value bike of the year is a 2 year old frame with really good components.

Pinkbike Awards: Innovation of the Year Winner
Aside from the weird looks it would be interesting to see how this thing performs after all the pivot points start to loosen and/or the pivots etc get packed with mud and sand. Looks like you'd get a major shimmy problem like a worn aircraft nose landing gear.

Pinkbike Awards: Best Value Product Nominees
@pancakeflatted: I should have mentioned too that Shimano stuff is great right up until your NDS crank arm comes off mid-descent. Saw this twice at Whistler EWS this year. WW2 technology attaching the NDS crank arm to the crank axle.

Yeah Shimano stuff is great right up until you have to take your rear wheel off.

Understanding Fear in Mountain Biking
I'm like you. I find myself getting more careful as I get older, but another thing I fear is being stuck at my desk in the office, not getting out and riding enough tough terrain, never having pushed the limits to experience the exhilaration of conquering a difficult line.

Don't Punch the Baby - Opinion
@stacykohut: I agree and I've tried to resist getting upset about this but here goes: Since the beginning of mtb all bikes were human powered, strictly mechanical devices that were extensions of our bodies. This defined them clearly from motorized bikes (i.e. dirtbikes). E-bikes are not mountain bikes and if they are made to look like mountain bikes, sold in bike shops as "advanced mountain bikes" and thrown in our faces here on our favourite mtb website it gets us cranked up, so to speak. I do wish that these troll articles would just stop. Unfortunately we will still have to deal with these e-bike poseurs on our trails.
