@mexicant: The Canadian tariffs are for point of origin, so since the hypothetical bicycle was manufactured in China, and Canada does not have tariffs on China, it will not incur the 25% tariff from USA to Canada.
However, American brands that source materials from China, and manufacture in the USA will indeed incur increased price in cost due to the American tariffs on Chinese materials, as well as the Canadian tariff on USA manufactured goods.

@CustardCountry: Agreed, but its not about Canada putting the tariffs on other countries. Its about the US putting them on Taiwan, China, Vietnam etc. US based companies who manufacture overseas will pay higher costs for their products resulting in increased prices.

@shoreboy1866: yes, companies importing into the USA and subsequently shipping into Canada will have to raise prices. They will be hit with import tariffs into the USA depending on country of origin, increasing their cost of goods. This will then be passed onto the dealer and customer.

@cerealkilla: I think it is also attributed to those brands having the top 3 performing female athletes from last year. They accumulate points at a higher rate, raising the overall teams number, and that is definitely not to discount them, they earned it.

by cutting out the middle man, these companies have more margin dollars to play with for marketing. The downside, is that they have no middle man to help take care of product issues.
