The Whistler DH World Cup Delivered
@tom666: I was there and had a great time, but I thought it was weak that they had the stage oriented that you could only see it from the VIP areas. So it let you view the finish line / corral / podium. And I think came with a margarita.

Check Out: Cargo Pants, Tools, Tech, and More
@LM-CZ: Agree, but I still want pockets so when I am loading up my car and driving to the trail head I can have my stuff in my pockets like normal, and then can transfer to my in-frame storage or pack when I'm riding. Otherwise I'm caring a bunch of loose things, annoying!

Emil Johansson Shares Serious Injury Update After Red Bull Rampage Crash
@catamplifier: the thing I think your argument misses is that these high profile events are celebrating these extremely high risk activities, and thereby influencing others to take the same risks. There will always be people willing to take extreme risks for the thrill of it. But I think the problem is that by celebrating it, you are effectively encouraging others, leading to higher casualties. For example, if there was some kind of televised event for playing Russian Roulette, and the guy that lives through the most rounds gets a bunch of money, accolades, hero-status, etc. then I'm sure more (especially young) people would be compelled to try it, and there would be more deaths.

Review: Orbea Rallon DH - A Recipe For Locking Into Turns
This. On top of the time savings you mentioned (assuming you even have the skills and tools to swap all the parts), if you can afford to buy all the extra parts a la cart, you can afford a complete build second bike (probably cheaper), which gives you the ability to keep riding one if you break the other...
