What’s the Most Compliant MTB Handlebar? [Updated With SQ Lab]

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't 35mm bars only come into existence when everyone was going for 800mm wide bars and a stiffer bar was required? And then it just stuck around and now I feel like it's a standard we don't really need anymore......

Video: 77-Year-Old Betty Birrell Shreds the North Shore With Rémy Métailler

Funny story, and it’s meant as nothing but the best compliment, but I was riding with a buddy on a fairly gnarly secret trail on the North Shore a few years ago and out of the corner of my eye I saw a smoke show and some older guy about 40m ahead of us at the top of a climb. I thought “Holy crap (she’s hot)!!”. They were resting for a bit and when we got closer I was like “Oh my god! North Shore Betty!” And it was awesome. Not trying to be shallow at all, it was just a quick, genetically induced observation. And then after a bit of chit chat you asked if we’d like to go ahead, and we hesitantly said sure. Then you proceed to rip down the trail as fast as we were, and we were pinning it!!!!! Double Hell Yeah!! Was fun to meet you, legend.

2024 Santa Cruz Nomad Size L Ridden for 9 months. Excellent condition. The ride wrap is 8 months old and cost $175 so I kept it on even though a few scuffs are on it. It’s got a Fox Factory 38 fork on it with black stanchions that I got for aesthetics. Fox Float X rear shock. Shimano 4 piston brakes. SRAM GX drivetrain. New tires New Brake pads New Chain. New version of DT Swiss 370 hubs (upgradeable star ratchet) Awesome bike I just don’t need it.
