I got a pair based on the initial reviews, spent a week trying to find a pressure where they didn’t feel terrible, and gave up. At 32/34 they had huge amounts of traction and no support, at 33/35 they had OK traction and were pinballing off every rock and root. Folks can scoff at what they think the Vital guys’ methodology was, but it absolutely lines up with my experience, and my methodology was to ride my local trails and go up one PSI at a time looking for something that didn’t feel terrible. For lighter riders they seem fine, but I’ve never been so happy to toss a pair of tires.

@Ceasy: No, they said they didn’t get the initial marketing pitch before they got the tires. They tested a full range of pressures from “normal” all the way up to 36 psi or something silly. I think the big difference is that they tested them with a 220lb rider. I had a similar experience with the radials: low pressures felt soggy and unpredictable, high pressures felt pinball-y and unpredictable, with absolutely nothing in the middle.
