A New Perspective on the Lošinj World Cup Track - Video
Personally I think it is exciting that the World Cup has identified new venues and expanded in that respect. However I do feel they need to be even more ambitious and look to further challenge the riders when making course selections, though the course and location in Croatia looks great it doesn’t seem World Cup worthy in comparison to many of the more recently introduced tracks like the first visit to Cedric Gracias track in Andora and Lourdes not to mention the longstanding favourites from riders. I think if you were to look to some of the enduro word series as a competition in its infancy compared to downhill the destinations, courses and locations are really exciting and hold so much potential to host really long, challenging and varied tracks, that’s not to mention all of the amazing locations that are showcased here on pinkbike continuously. Hopefully this is a move in the right direction but in the future courses will be selected that are more challenging in line with the constant growth and progression of both the bikes of the time and the talent of the riders.

Sam Hill Announces 2017 Plans: EWS Round 7: Valberg, France
Even only as a world cup spectator I completely see his point about the same tracks and lines year after year... I honestly think progress needs to be made in terms of increasing the number of World Cup rounds in a season, considering any other racing sport at a top level there are very often at least double the amount of races that there were this year for downhill. And it would probably allow much more opportunity for vast and raw competition between a set of top 30 riders that any of them on their day could take the win with others outside of the top 30 gaining a chance to prove consistently and justification for their racing..as currently a top athlete can be on top form and dominate half if not a whole season where as with much more events on a the world cup calendar it would this consistency would be more difficult allowing riders the opportunity for redemption and create a more open competition.

Tragic News - Stevie Smith Passes Away
When this news popped up on my Feed I literally could not believe it! It's just absolutely gutting! Probably in my opinion not only one of the greatest riders but just one of the main guy I always looked forward to watching a run or edit of and even though in British there really wasn't many others I would have liked to see place above him and genuinely believed it was only a matter of time before he was back on top! I hope he is always remembered as one of the greats of MTB! Rest peacefully Steve.
