Trailforks Introduces New 'Traildar' Feature
Hasn't Outside-owned Gaia GPS had auto waypoint notifications for years?. I might be wrong, and apologies, but that's the whole point of Gaia guided trekking and tracking.

Trailforks Introduces New 'Traildar' Feature
Oh dear, this is the most depressing snowflake-gen article I've read this year. To think Polynesians migrated across the mighty, featureless Pacific by stars, in hand-adzed catamarans, eating dried fish and mouldy taro without a chilled Labatt in sight.

Trailforks Introduces New 'Traildar' Feature
@jayacheess: Hey, I take offence at that - I've never been outside the safety of the Nike shoebox I live in. Sometimes I open the lid a crack and peer across the bedroom at that intimidating T-Rex under the bed, then lock the box, watch Rampage, and plot confusing GPS zig zag routes to the bathroom. One day I'll be free

Trailforks Introduces New 'Traildar' Feature
Luckily I have 3 compass apps on my phone, a Storm whistle, plus a real cool iridescent liquid-filled analogue compass that doesn't need a LiPo cell to function, and it glows in the dark all by itself. Can look at an offline map to memorize a few mikes of turns, check the stars n' sun, and like Gandalf the Gray appear on the pass at sunset and yell 'You shall not pass!' as park rangers prepare to send out a search party- not joking. \I blame Scouts and paper maps of yonder years for this weird inhibitory skillset. How the hell did they do mega-transepts of Africa 250 years ago without GPS

And critically if there's a child sitting on my touchdown, or family having Sunday picnic, as happened several times. Always LBYLG (Look before you leap Goombah)

Video: Greg Minnaar Explores his ADHD Diagnosis & How it May Have Unknowingly Shaped his Career
Bah! ADHD has already been proved by geneticists not to be evolutionarily beneficial. When it occurred about 45,000+ years ago it started to be deselected, but as its about 75% hereditary it persists.

@tornare: Thanks for the mention of DSM-5 and the link. Also ICD-11 defines ADHD slightly differently which has implications too.

@schofell84: @schofell84: When did I say Commerce? You might want to do some reading to better inform your opinion. Capitalism is a lay-term: Also, ADHD has existed for more than 45,000 years. Some doubt that the term "capitalism" possesses valid scientific dignity, and it is generally not discussed in mainstream economics Economist Daron Acemoglu suggesting that the term "capitalism" should be abandoned entirely. Consequently, understanding of the concept of capitalism tends to be heavily influenced by opponents of capitalism and by both the followers and critics of Karl Marx Scholars who are uncritical of capitalism rarely use the term "capitalism" Alternatives to capitalism: Anarchy Capitalism Colonialism Communism Corporatism Degrowth Dirigisme Distributism Feudalism Hydraulic despotism Inclusive democracy Keynesian economics Market economy Market socialism Mercantilism Mutualism Nationalism National syndicalism Network economy Non-property system Palace economy Participatory economy Potlatch Progressive utilization theory (PROUTist economy) Proprietism Resource-based economy Social democracy Social Credit Socialism Statism Workers' self-management
