Don’t forget draggy! They are quite a bit less efficient than a derailleur and cassette.That’s currently the biggest impediment.

SRAM Patent Shows Mechanical Transmission Derailleur With Smart Setup Feature

Fantastic news! My XX Transmission AXS was really underwhelming and surprisingly finicky. That said, I did have a very early kit. Has it gotten any better? While I like the durability and lack of the hanger, I just really didn’t like the shift quality. Felt like a real slide backwards. I’ve moved both of my bikes back to mechanical Eagle. I hope mechanical Transmission is finally an upgrade. I like mechanical things and don’t want to have to charge everything
