Interview: From Rampage to Dark Horse - Casey Brown on the Future of Women's Freeride
So incredibly thankful for what Casey has built as well as all the other women that have contributed to women's mountain biking. FYI it's Shealen Reno, not Shaylin.

Why Pride Still Matters
Derek is an amazing human being and I am so thankful he wrote this and has put together so many extraordinary mountain biking and trail building events to better our MTB communities.

Interview: Vali Höll On Not Getting Paid By YT, Rider Safety, and Why DH Won’t Be In the Olympics
Excuse me? Vali didn't get paid a salary by YT last year? In 2024, she had overall series titles, world championship titles, etc. and YT didn't pay her in 2025? Feel like we're somehow not giving YT enough hate now given that she's at the pointy end of women's DH racing and the top athlete isn't getting paid by the bike sponsor.

9 Things We Learned from the 2026 Leogang DH World Cup
I appreciate the call-out about the comments section and women racing last. When one of the stars of downhill mountain biking calls out the haters on the broadcast for insinuating that the crowds would leave and no one would watch, it should be obvious that those online opinions weren't well informed. But also, they don't need equal viewership numbers to support the change. The women noted that they get less recovery time and have to be up on the mountain earlier than the men for every race and have to cut in tracks. Rating women on their one performance that required different prep and set-up to be successful isn't fair. What would be fair is switching every other race.

Video: Creating Mountain Bike History at the Leogang DH World Cup
What Vali said x1000! Really important they pointed out they’ve had less recovery time and had to be up and ready earlier than the men for every race until this weekend. There doesn’t need to be a “return” on the swap - it’s simply giving athletes equal opportunity. So cool seeing Lina and Vali win today!!!

Leogang DH World Cup Preview: Who’s Racing, How to Watch & What to Expect
@the-smith: You've apparently missed all of the existing comment threads where men are just hammering this and are "so concerned" that it will impact viewership while simultaneously admitting they won't watch the women's because of this one race format. It's fake concern when you aren't even willing to sit in front of the TV for a little while longer to watch competitive women racers do what they do best. It's fake concern because these men aren't actually willing to support women, which is allowed but what's not allowed is pretending that these guys commenting with their faux concern actually believe that women deserve equal opportunity.

Leogang DH World Cup Preview: Who’s Racing, How to Watch & What to Expect
Yeah I think we'll let the women racers provide their feedback instead of PB commenters. Just take a step back - one race in the entirety of this sport's history where women get the chance to be in the final slot and queue the uproar. These racers are professionals and can handle "worn and rutted" courses, jesus. And it's certainly not anticlimactic for all viewers, that's your personal feelings. I certainly don't see men commenting that they're disappointed with the end result when top qualifying male riders crash or come in slower. Did you not watch the juniors to see Asa or Max beat Elite times? Just admit you don't want women treated equally and get on with it.

This was needed! It's an excellent showcase of women, mountain biking, and friendship. I love riding with my local women's mtb group - tons of laughter, silliness, cheering each other on, and challenging each other while just enjoying the ride.
