Privateer Launch $3,075 161 Enduro Race Bike
Wow this looks amazing. A GG shred Dogg or megatrail were the only bikes on my list if I ever get cash. Now there are 3. Those are a Canfield Balance and this one. It's a tough call and getting tougher. That's a good thing for sure Magura mt5s are what I run currently. I love them. Better than any I've tried before. Do yourselves a favor though and go with the mt7 pad setup. It's so much easier and I think they feel better too. I just need to afford a lever swap to the 1 finger ones and I'll call them done.

Field Trip: 8 Value Bikes VS the Impossible Climb, 1 Huge Upset
Bring em all to PA. Pick any part of the state for rocks, roots, mud, more rocks even more roots and up in the north to get blown out tire shredding shale! Fun. Don't forget your hammer as some of these rocks ring right back at you. Oh and don't mind the coal fire under Centralia. That one's just good for inspiring Japanese game creators to make Silent Hill.

Field Trip: Is Buying a Used Mountain Bike Worth It?
I bought a used 2005 Cannondale Prophet frame. 4 years later it's specced better than some mid to top tier boutique bikes and rides better too. I'll never sell it whole. The frame will be wall art. The rest will be off to other bikes or sold individually.

First Ride: Guerrilla Gravity's 160mm Gnarvana Enduro Bike - Pond Beaver 2020
I like the modular designs of their bikes made with US manufactured carbon. It's not cheap to buy a kit and suspension for a conversion but it's cheaper than buying a new one. To each their own but if I have the cash for a new bike then it will be a hard choice between a Mega Trail and a Canfield Balance. Also despite the heavy metal vibe of GG I suspect that the name has more to do with the eastern philosophical idea of Nirvana which is a higher state of being achieved after a lot of Budhist stuff. (Too long to type and no coffee yet) So Gnarvana is a perfect state of trail shredding. Or maybe I whiffed here and completely missed the joke. Either way.

More Randoms: Flat Pedal Shoes, Less Expensive Brakes, Camera Packs, Sunglasses - Pond Beaver 2020
Brakes. Glad there are some cheaper options, but I'd take mid level shimanos for budget any day. I rode M675s for 3 seasons and I liked them. I saved up some coin and upgraded to Magura Mt5s w/ Mt7 pads and nothing I've ridden compared to them. They modulate well and mesh with my ride style. To each their own of course.

Quarantini Randoms: Gwin's Custom Helmet, Fox's Spring Apparel, MTB Specific Colouring Book & More - Pond Beaver 2020
I still ride with a Super 2. It's old by now, smells funny and has a few scratches and such. But it fits ok and I'll keep it until I can afford to replace it.

The Grim Donut is Already Spawning Imitations
This is what happens when the enginerds start going stir crazy. What's next? A tandem with fully independent front and rear rider suspension? Just be sure they name it Karen. It'll work great.

Letter from the Editor: All in this Together
Spot on. Thanks for this. This is a great time for rebuilds, full tear downs etc so a master class series on each major component or somesuch would be great for us homebound mechanic wannabes. How about a series with world cup level race mechanics sharing their favorite tips and tricks? Or a bit where you guys do that. Either way thanks keeping us rolling.

Pinkbike Poll: Would You Rather...? Quick-Fire Edition
Would you rather..? An old school 10 to 15 year old reliable bike with modern top spec everything (ex Cannondale Prophet) Or a brand new high end frame with low end spec parts? Real question. My Cannondale Prophet is the old school bike with top spec parts.
