First Look: Esker's New Howdy & Woodsy Trail Bikes are Available in Titanium or Aluminum
I've been on an Esker Rowl for over a year, and the Orion suspension is good, VERY good. Better small bump compliance than a Santa Cruz Bronson, and better pedaling platform than a Stumpjumper with the shocks open. It's a great middle ground for my preference. I would have loved to see steel front and rear rather than AL, with the optional TI front. My Rowl is the only carbon bike in a quiver of steel frames, and a steel Woodsy would be a "forever" bike for me.

Day 1 Randoms - Bespoked Show Dresden 2024
@colemanb: standard threaded bb, BSA 73mm, needs ISCG05 tabs. I run one on my steel hardtail and I have a brand new one in box for whenever it wears out (I will buy another one if I can find one...). It's a great option to have a high/low range with the simplicity of a SS drivetrain.

Opinion: Ode to an Oddball - Rediscovering Two-Wheeled Fun
Great article. I love my 29+ steel SS hardtail! My 140mm trail bike gets left in the garage because this thing is so fun!

Reader Story: Building a Custom Bike Frame at Home
Awesome article. I've built 5 frames so far in my garage and this is what I'd add: 1. The lathe isn't necessary for a hobby builder (1-2 frames a year). Just print out the paper templates and cut with a hacksaw and fine tune with a half round file. It takes me less than 5 minutes per cope, and is arguably a better fit. 2. Nova Cycles supply is a good source for tubing and dropouts in the USA.
