That grinding noise you hear is the teeth of any poor mechanic expected to actually build this thing up.
I thought headset tourism was bad, but That's only like 4 cables/hoses. This is 52 effin' nipples guided blind around the rim. I tried and failed getting ONE nipple un-jammed from a carbon rim back in the day (fell in and got jammed between the rim and another couple nipples somehow), and I gave up and suffered the tinkling sound for a year until I sold it.

Strongly agree. If you assume a 475# or so spring, that looks like the shock is being driven at about a 4:1 ratio by the push link, and that would mean that little bit of aluminum has to handle Kspring*travel/inches*ratio -> *475*(55/25.4)*4 = ~4k lbs of force at full travel. Yikes.
And no, I didn't do a proper kinematic workup, this is definitely napkin math. Regardless, I think this design maybe errs on the side of aesthetics over durability. I remember the old RM6/RM7 had similarly high loading back in the early 2000s, and they actually stretched the aluminum rocker mount like chewing gum (or just fractured it outright).
