I'm saddened to hear about the ratchet failure. I bought a set of OneUp hubs immediately after they were released, to replace the 1/1 rear hub which I tore the drive-side hub flange clean off of (the 1/1 had an issue with cracking drive rings which expand and break the hub I guess). I guess I have a history with hubs then... Anyhow, I didn't even get 2 months out of the first batch OneUp hub before it started skipping, then freewheeling both ways. My original ratchets looked exactly like the ones in the article image, but the splines in the freehub were ALSO roached, which is why it was jamming. Take a look for wear there, it's pretty obvious. OneUp support were _aweseome_, and fedexed me a new freehub and ratchet rings, and the hub has been pretty solid since. Now, a year later, they're still doing great, but that hub is getting a wheel rebuild right now, and I hope it remains a solid choice (nervous face).

Mostly just with Euro brands. Kinda like a "Made in the USA" thing, showing as many parts as possible that weren't from outside Europe.

@Jtstar: I disagree. I am less interested in total power and torque, but _very_ interested in losing the unsprung mass of a derailleur and cassette, and freeing up hub width for more strength with wider spaced flanges. Ditching the current fragile bicycle drivetrain is a big enough win that I'd consider an e-bike to get it.
