@LemonadeMoney: @LemonadeMoney: Rob did have a G2 with the front triangle lengthened to modern proportions (he's a very tall human anyway) and it had a I think something like a 6kw RC plane motor in place of the Alfine hub gearbox, ran the battery in a backpack, it was only single speed and not ideally geared, it was stupid fast and very cool, it didn't have any pedal integration, so he'd pretend to pedal going past anyone who would have had a cry about it not being a proper ebike!

It's really not hard to carry some first aid, mine has gotten at least one mate out of the woods who maybe wouldn't have, and patched up a fair few other mistakes. Saves a bad day from going to a terrible day reaaaaaal fast!

because he (I assume) thinks it's hilarious.
I too think it's hilarious.
It's people racing bicycles, it shouldn't be serious, I way prefer it to some of the super dry commentary out there, I rate how much Cathro is just, well Cathro, a big lanky line choice nerd.

@AltAlt: Can't see any issue with it, like yeah they're not as resistant to corrosion as stainless, but seeing this tool will spend the majority of it's life either in the box it came in or a toolbox it's not going to be too much of an issue, and rather that the tool becoming stuck in a frame!
I was thinking you could just swap the nuts to keep costs and waste down, but dissimilar metals could end up with galvanic corrosion happening if the end user left them assembled in storage etc

hey @AltAlt: design engineer here with a bit of experience with stainless fasteners in various industries. They are all good until they're not, and then they are really really not, and need to be cut apart. The main issue that starts galling is excessive heat via excessive friction, say like someone using a rattle gun and spinning nuts down really fast, but can also be caused by a bit of dirt etc in the thread causing heat to start. A bit of anti-seize goes a long way to preventing it, that and the person using the hardware to be attentive (both out of your control I acknowledge)
Look forward to seeing when shipping to NZ is available, looks like a great product at a solid price point! Hat's off!
