All name-brand aluminium dirt frames are. Most companies have been selling variations on a theme at best, one frame with a few facelifts at worst, for like 15 years.

Sliders are the worst, they are a fiddly, finicky, creaky point of failure that is unnecessary on a hardtail. Sliders and bent main tubes are the two dumbest hardtail features that exist.

Yep I agree with all of that. Specialized made the same blue when they went from the pre-07 Enduro chassis to the SL; they went from a competent all rounder that excelled at descending to what was a stumpjumper with a lift kit. They got it right when they redesigned it in 2010; I hope that is what Scott are doing here.
