It would also most likely just be individuals who sponsor. Family, friends, etc. I grew up in the UK and this type of thing is really common there. For example most people who run marathons would do it as a "sponsored event" where people they know sign up to donate to a specific charity if they complete it. Seems way less common in North America.

I have a 2017 Specialized Enduro 29er for sale with lots of upgrades. The bike has been ridden but well taken care of, so you'll see the usual scratches from wear and tear. I regularly serviced the suspension and have replaced the linkage bearings towards the end of the summer. The rear shock has a custom made negative air chamber, with a slightly larger volume than stock which makes the first part of travel much plusher. I have the original autosag adapter which I can show you how to put back on if you need. I'll also provide a custom rear link so you can run any 210x55 mm metric shock on it. Rear hub is brand new, and the rear wheel has just been rebuilt. The chain, chainring and cassette are basically brand new (they've had 3 rides on them). The front tire is new and rear is has not seem much use, they are setup tubeless. Grips are brand new. Full spec is as follows: Frame: Carbon Enduro 29er Fork: Rock Shox Lyrik 160mm travel Bars: Chromag BZA Grips: Ergon Lock Stem: Chromag HiFi 35 mm length Brakes: Sram Code w/ 200 mm rotors front and rear Shifter: Sram GX 11 speed Cranks: Sram NX w/ 30t chainring Cassette: Sram GX 11 speed Derailleur: Sram GX 11 speed Chain: Sram X1 Wheels: Chromag BA rims on Hope pro 4 hubs Tires: Specialized Butcher Grid casing 2.5, setup tubeless Pedals: Shimano Saint spd Seatpost: Specialized Command post 160 mm drop I'm located in North Van, message me if you would like to come and see it or if you have any questions. Price is OBO. Cheers, Fred

I have an almost brand new Fox DHX2. It was originally 216 x 63 and has a spacer in it to make it 210 x 55 travel. So it will fit a lot of new metric trail bikes. The shock is in great condition, has only been used a handful of times. I bought it to try a coil on my trail bike, but the leverage curve is a bit linear and I'm going back to air. Comes with a 600 lb fox spring. Price is $450 obo
