Pinkbike Poll: How Are You Actually Watching World Cup Racing These Days?
Discovery have the contract until when? 2030?
By that time, the population who were into watching downhill with their kids, who loved the characters and the accessibility of the sport will have moved on.
The movers and shakers in 5 years time won't remember the freecaster or red bull coverage and what it represented.
So, in my mind, this is eight years of nailing the coffin shut, when it should have been building a wider fan base.

DH Field Test: Intense M1 - For Your Gnarliest Trails
Similar story for me. Broke my foot for a second time (just another break to add to the list) and decided enough was enough. 6 weeks later, first time out, took the DH bike and decided to do the largest step down I'd attempted. Went great...but at that point, I was like "this thing is gonna kill me at some point".
Sold a few days later.

When did £/€/$10k become the average cost of a bike?! Who are these aimed at?

Pinkbike Academy Season 3, Episode 10: A Winner Is Crowned
Completely agree. This was by far the worse season and the new format was woeful.
I could not get away with the presenters...I can't remember the female presenter, but that was not a good fit.
The goals and success criteria for the challenges were constantly undermined by this undertone of "we're looking for more than just..."
Why did you wait until the last one or two episodes to put an interview with Orbea saying what they were looking for?! Surely that's the intro of Ep.1? Set the scene and all that?!
Same as other comments - you didn't get to know the riders and see enough of them playing to their strengths. Maybe the episodes were too short or maybe it was too much time spent on pointless judge deliberations.
Judges' deliberations were meaningless - so formulaic; make sure everyone is mentioned as both a strong contender and a bottom of the pack so actually, you say nothing.
I LOVED Season 1 & 2 - so exciting to see opportunities given to amateur riders.

Video: Emily Batty Releases the Teaser for Season 2 of Ambitions
That's a devastating view into what celebrity athletes have to endure from narrow-minded couch critics. All for doing what you love.
Everyone has ups and downs, and I can't imagine the pressure of having to perform day in day out (like many jobs I guess) but in the public eye.
At least there was some positivity and encouragement amongst the idiocy too. Good luck with your goals, Emily - embrace to the fans and ignore the sceptics.
