Oct 9, 2022Transition Bandit 26
$1150 CADSelling my size small Transition Bandit. This is an excellent trail bike for a smaller rider.
Excellent climber, fast and nimble, light but exceptionally sturdy.
2x10 drivetrain, Rock Shox Sector fork, Fox Float Shock.
Recently serviced drivetrain. Dropper post unfortunately has an oil leak that is not serviceable as the seals are no longer in production.

Video: $450 vs. $2200 Wheels & Tires - Budget vs. Baller Episode 2
@plustiresaintdead: Not really.
They talk about how the cheaper rims might be fine if not handicapped by the tires. They don't actually TEST that though, completely missing the point of doing a comparison in the first place.

What's the point in doing these tests if you swap multiple components at once?!
Do tires even matter? Well yeah, duh.
Does spending 5 times the price on rims make a substantial difference? We can't even tell you because we paired the rims to the worst tires imaginable.
If you are trying to make informative videos to viewers than you need to be making incremental changes so that viewers can know where the best bang for buck upgrades can be found.

Pinkbike Poll: Do You Have Long Or Short Legs For Your Height?
A good question, but cranks are the least of my concerns in fitting a bike.
Not once have I ever had a salesperson ask about leg length or even understand the concept that different people have different proportions. The one thing roadies manage to do is actually get this.
"Oh you're 5'-6"? yeah you definitely should be on a medium."
Nah bro I have a stubby little torso and the reach on a medium puts me way to far forward to hop and manual, but thanks for coming out.

Reserve's New Fillmore Valve Aims to Make Tubeless Easier
An improvement to an inferior valve design is still an inferior valve.
I'll be over here still using my reliable AF custom schrader valves pilfered from a moto tube. More airflow, never clog, and have large diameter hex nuts that will never work loose no matter how inept I am using a hand pump on the trail. Not to mention I don't need to carry a stupid adapter to use a common air compressor.

Video: Steve Peat Races 2006 vs 2021 V10 Race Bike Down Le Pleney
@Fix-the-Spade: ...while wearing the same kit as people had 30 years ago.
We all get to the age eventually where dumb kids are wearing the same thing we grew up wearing.

Burning Question: Do Bike Brands Have Targets To Reduce CO2 Emissions?
Want to reduce CO2 emissions? Stop changing the standards every f_cking year driving obsolescence. Stock replacement parts on older product lines.
Mountain bikes and their components are becoming more and more disposable because of industry practices.
Taking a couple steps to reduce your carbon footprint in manufacturing is just sh_tty lip service when the entire industry has shifted to a planned obsolescence business practice.
