Video: Raw Practice Footage from the Mairiporã XC World Cup 2024
From what I can gather from the film, it looks like the vast majority of the course is super smooth machine built trail. A few sections with some rocks/roots sticking out. Then a couple of stupid features to make people think "rad" or something like that. At one point with only brief footage, it looks like they just dumped a bunch of large rocks on the course. I guess this is what it takes to sell an endurance event? I'd prefer a more techy course overall that's more natural...like what most XC participants race on.

Video: Tech Tuesdays - How To Set Up Your Shifting
I saw the derailleur hanger adjustment tool sitting up there on the peg board. That's my first step. Great insight on using two step gear changes.

Leatt Releases 3-in-1 Enduro Helmet
@atourgates: I do plenty of 3-4 hour rides or hard near XC race pace 1.5 hour rides with a full face on. I even have a liner on underneath as it keeps the helmet dryer. I don't find it much hotter than a regular helmet. I haven't tried it on one of our 90-100* 95% humidity days we occasionally get, but then again, I notice the trails are really empty on those days anyway. Only thing that sucks is that you have to stop to drink. It's up to you. I've only hit my face a few times in many years of riding and never had anything more than light scratches. Side benefit is the bugs that hover around my face during a climb seem a bit further away...probably not really true, but it seems that way.

Now THAT Was a Bike: John Tomac's Raleigh Signature
Always at least one guy that would show up to the local XC races with one of those. Always knew when they were close to you.

How Much Do Professional Mountain Bikers Get Paid? - Pinkbike's State of the Sport Survey
True enough, but you could say the same thing (unnecessary and noncontributing) about a hedge fund manager. Pretty sure their salary distribution graph would look a lot different. Baseball player if you want a closer comparison.
