Interview: Isla Short on Her ADHD Diagnosis, Developing a Privateer Setup & Breakthrough World Cup Results
I went through the trouble of finding my Outside log in for this.
I'm 49 and circumstances recently found me finally seeing good therapist with consistency. Solidifying what I always suspected, that I have ADHD, has put so much of my life in perspective. I long believed what I was told; that I was lazy and didn't apply myself. I judged myself because I couldn't sit down and finish homework or a report. And love felt conditional on performance; I was not the favorite child to put it mildly.
I've long figured out how to live with something I didn't fully understand but now I'm learning to judge myself a little less, and more importantly, forgive my younger self.
Isla thank you for the vulnerability and for helping to normalize the idea that we're not all wired the same.
I'm greatfull for my 30+ years on two wheels (especially the +2" wide type) and all the peace, clarity and freedom its afforded me.
