Interview: Matt Beers Thinks "Marathon is Basically a Better Version of Gravel"
To the interviewer's defense, Matt didn't answer the first question. I associate 'marathon' as an XC race of about 4-6 hours, possibly longer but generally not longer than a single day / stage. I would consider any one of those events you have noted as a 'marathon'. But they keep coming back to the Cape Epic which I wouldn't consider a marathon but a MTB stage race. Possibly the interviewer needs to clarify their understanding of 'marathon', but given they ignored the events you have highlighted; I'm inclined to think they associate a 'marathon' with an event like the Cape Epic....which is possibly not correct?
