'I've Never Used My Brakes So Much on the Climbs' - Riding the Megamo Reason eMTB
As an e-biker who also spends a lot of time building/rebuilding trails and understands the downside to “too much power” (especially when people ride in wet conditions)…. here’s my petition for us Pinkbike’s to AVOID AVINOX like the plague.
We need sensible limits and for companies to adopt standards in good faith. My local trail system is widely open to Class I bikes and that is great. I’d like to keep it that way.
Stop pushing this crap Pinkbike

@Skooks: that’s fair…. My commute has some double track trails along the way so emtb makes sense to serve both purposes, at least in summer when it’s melted. To each their own and glad you’re on a bike regardless. Sure beats driving!

@dagzin: let’s be real, that’s not feasible in many places. My commute has 1000’+ of vertical and I’m on a time crunch getting to work. On an analog bike I’d show up late and sweaty. Boost mode on an e-bike makes it easy. E-bikes aren’t the devil and have a really important place within our suite of transportation options (and are WAY better for the environment than the status quo which is driving). The false narrative of “just ride a bike” is bogus, when you know that 99% of people in the US are driving everywhere. Let’s push for a better solution.
