Final Results: Albstadt World Cup XC 2019
Well, I first thought the same. However, Albstadts soil and rocks pose a huge problem when wet. The only solution would be to completely remove the soil and rocks in technical sections and bring these in from elsewhere - not very feasible. There have been serious injuries in past years, so imagine putting in a (proper) technical course. It is a tough balance for organizers. What Albstadt did really well is providing spectator access to all corners of the course.

Thanks, appreciate it. The crowds were second to none, incredible. Made it a challenge for us as it became very hard to get anywhere, but it sort of worked out at least. Kate and her parents; great to see their emotions.

Well, there will be some words from the UCI on that in the coming days here. There is something to it, but I fully agree it needs work. On the plus side; the racing and World Cup does get more interesting, as riders are able to gain points and a better start position. However, like you said it should be mountainbiking, which at this point it is not.
