Fox 38 170 Air Shaft w/ Luftkappe Installed

$125 USD
Inner air sleeve for a ‘21+ Fox 38 170 travel Has a Vorsprung Luftkappe installed Excellent condition. Air sleeve has a total of maybe 300 miles worth of rides and only maybe 50 of that on the Luftkappe. I found the Luftkappe was just too progressive for me and my riding. This air sleeve was the original on my fork, I just picked up another stock one to swap back rather disassembling this one. Save not only money, but the hassle of installing the Luftkappe. I did not disassemble to show pics of the piston, however on the included pics I show down the tube of a stock air sleeve where you can see the white topped OEM air piston, then a pic down the sleeve of this where you can see the domed top of the Luftkappe. If someone does want it disassembled for additional pics I can do that. Please let me know if you have any questions Buyer pays shipping.

Video: The Riders Overlooked By Modern Geometry
The realization I found most interesting here is that despite having ridden years (almost a couple decades) AND having been on the same bike brand for the past 12 or so, I cannot rattle off what I feel the ideal geometry numbers are for myself like Christina was able to. Some of that for her surely comes from all the different bike access that being at PB presents, but you’d think an experienced rider would have a better idea. For example, I have a 2020 Bronson with as set up reach of 436 and a 2023 nomad with as set up reach of 452 (both mediums, stem lengths almost exactly the same). The bikes clearly feel overall different on the trail but I can’t say I can clearly feel the reach number when riding.

First Ride: Atherton S170 - Long Travel & Lugged Aluminum
@bigjimdaniel: That may help a little, but in my looking at the system, the most noise comes from the backing plates of the pads rattling against the inside of the caliper. Which I dont think this would really help.

First Ride: Atherton S170 - Long Travel & Lugged Aluminum
@JustinVP: does this really alleviate the rattling? I've thought about a few different ways to try and get rid of mine but never got past ideas and just kinda dealt with it.

Just updated to a set, coming off a pro 2 front and pro 4 rear. They’re great and I actually prefer the new sound of the 5’s freehub.
