@ridesrealbikes: Agreed, It could get a little funky, our BB is 4mm lower so underforking it 10mm would lower the BB another 8 or so and the seat tube angle would be .5 degrees steeper too. I rode all the old versions at 140 and 150 but lowering the new frame to 130 feels so much better IMO unless you're building a DH sled hardtail. It has enough travel to handle anything within reason but the handling just stays more consistent. That said, 140 would be fine

@justwan-naride: that was the reason, bags and ability for a second bottle. On smaller frames the seat will hit the tire when it's all the way down in most cases anyway.

@jkertz: That was a weird prototype we built using SST chainstays like you said. We shelved that idea, it took away heel clearance and didn't provide a noticeable difference.

@Takaya94: That's a good deal from Canada into US. One HUGE benefit to the Hall Pass being built in Taiwan is that we can ship it to lots of international destinations and cover their duties since we don't need to pay big tariffs bringing them to the US first. I'd love to sell more of our US bikes internationally but it does get expensive for the customer with added duties, fees and tariffs.

@dungeonbeast: That makes sense, it's always hard to balance everything, the old version on the Redik was 20mm lower but on any of the smaller sizes you couldn't fit water bottles or a decent bag in the front triangle. I think your observation of your 495 reach FS and 480 reach for a hardtail aligns exactly with my thoughts on the subject, hard tails "feel" longer. I realize everyone isn't going to bunnyhop down the trail but at a certain point if the reach gets too long and the stack is low I feel like I'm trying to lift a board I'm standing on!

@Takaya94: we switched to a larger allen head version a while. The old one was a 3 mil and with certain posts it wouldn't tighten as much as it should.

Surface Voyager is a really nice bike, my guess is our drop outs cost a little more and they charge $42 for a seat clamp so considering that it's a similar value, we also get hit with higher tariffs on raw materials so our cost of goods might be 25% more than Canada.
