Riding bikes only ever for fun since 1975, First real MTB 1989. Picked a carreer that i enjoy, that also let me follow my non-work passions. Wife rides, daughters ride (goal check). Total tech head re: bikes and skis. Know way to much about this sport from that end. But beats knowing the last 8 rounds of Big Brother cast members. Stick and ball sports: only one I'm interested in and it's usually 1:1.

Tech Tuesday - HG vs. XD vs. Microspline Cassette Explainer
This! I haven't stripped one.... yet. But yeah, would it have killed the budget for Shimano to make that locking 3 threads longer. There's a lot of unused threads in the freehub body. And how about just making the base of the cogs wider so they don't need a spacer? Incidentally that would spread the force out, protecting the cassette reducing the potential of "stripping" the end. Even better, last 3 cogs as a single unit. They clearly have the know how to nail this tolerance.....

Tech Tuesday - HG vs. XD vs. Microspline Cassette Explainer
@Canadmos: Pauls and American Classic as well. It's shown as ABG (Anti Bite Guard) on Nova tech, Bitek, and Nukeproof hubs. Spank calls it Bite Block. At 240+ lbs I've changed every freehub body (including XD type) to steel. DT Swiss calls their Steel bodies Hybrid, intended for e-bikes, strong enough for Saskuatch (sp intentional)

Pinkbike Poll: What's Your Ideal Two Bike Quiver?
@wolfdoodle5017: 52, and agreed. Like to lay a little heat on some of the "kids" I ride with re: bikes I learned to ride on. "Sure it's steep but the bike I first rode this on was steeper than your gravel bike!, with the same size tires and travel."

Pinkbike Poll: What's Your Ideal Two Bike Quiver?
@danstonQ: Agreed. I am building a light 25mm 29r wheel set, too slap a set of WAY to light 2.3's on for "gravel" and High click/ mellow terrain days. A dually and a HT is about perfect for a 2 bike quiver..... See below

State Bicycle Co Release Affordable Entry-Level Fat Bike
Mty wife has a 2019 Moose 2, I have a Blizzard 10. (That took 360 days to arrive after I ordered it) Threw on a pair of DOT hydros, on the Blizzard. Huge improvement, the Mechs that SUCKED, for my +110kg. Built up some 29r wheels so can use them commuting in the non-snow months (close match in circ/ diameterto 26 x 4.5 tires). Both bikes are redonkulous fun like this. Most of the "ofd handling" with fat bikes is down to the resistance and mass of those tires.

Tacx Flow smart trainer (modded)

$250 CAD
2017~ish Tacx Flow smart trainer,. Being a "smart trainer" it plugs in and the resistance is self adjusting using an app. It works with most training apps. Zwift, Rouvy, Trainer Road, etc.... And the Tacx app. Sustained power is 800watts/ Max about 1100watts. It works great, I just went to a direct mount trainer. Motivated to sell. Why and how is it "Modded"? Well its not more powerful. The original wheel mount didn't work with boost hub bikes So I had it made wider at a local fabricator, now is has a bit more range. Still works with 130 road, but now it accepts everything axle width except 157. The mounts now both threaded to fit and lock ring keeps it tight. No issues at all, and I used it for the entire winter after it was done. Comes with all the trainer tires shown if desired : Vitoria Red Road trainer tire, Conti 27.5x 2.0 trainer and a 26 x 1.5 slick, all definitely help with the noise. The original QR skewer, an axillary antenna (for ANT devices), and a set of Wolf Tooth thru axle trainer caps. Also for sale, but not included in the price, is a 27.5 wheel with a DT Swiss 370 hub Listed separate under "e-13 with DT hub" Shown in pics with the Trainer tire mounted. $125 with the trainer. + $30 with 9 or 10 spd cassette (lightly used) + $50 with new 11spd cassette.. Hub is currently set up with 135 qr axle caps (as in pics) ALL the axle adaptors incouded. 142 TA and a148 TA boost kit./ rotor spacer, so it works on almost any bike including ; 29r's and road bikes (if they aren't to skinny in the back end)..
