if you have used Reserve stems (and possibly this looks to be the same) having a stronger flow of air is a nice chabe from Presta as it makes deflation easier, and more important inflation faster. The faster inflation is due to more air flow and this makes pumping up tubeless tires without the help of an air compressor even easier. It also allows for less issues of clogging due to sealant and the need to continue purchasing presta cores or dealing with replacing them and their basically outdated design that also has issues with the valve bending when open along with constant clogging, sticking and sometimes difficulty opening on trail when you may not have the conveinces of tools that are in your garage when on trail issues occur. I'm all for better engineered solutions to this problem. Yes, an actual problem that i dont see as just a new standard. as a coach and guide i deal with far to many on trail issues helping others with their broken, bent or gummed up valve stems due to maintenance or just lack of understanding thier valve cores weaknesses.

There are many other advantages to shorter cranks, and i honestly believe when you are talking a 5mm change its more about mobility over stability descending. Most people have the body awareness to only pedal strike a couple times until they don't anymore. This most often happens on a new bike when a BB has changed for them. The modern bikes having lower BB's, along with the data to show longer cranks don't really have much on a climbing advantage is why we are seeing shorter cranks more and more on Enduro and trail bikes. The mobility advantage also outweighs the stability advantage you get with longer cranks. Add that to a lower BB height and running a lower BB bike with shorter cranks is the better setup. That all said, adjustable cranks are really ideal for growing kids, and testing, I do not see much value in a adjustable crank unless you are one of those people always stripping out your threads, and in that case you could replace those if you bugger them up?

@Alloypenguin: You are definitely confusing E-moto with E-bikes.

i think this really has much more to do with E-moto than E-bikes. Its not the E cargos and E bikes commuting or the EMTB that are riding to trail head that caused this push. It was the e-moto ripping around town riding wheelies and weaving in and out of traffic that is causing this change.
