Consumers Threaten to Boycott Backcountry.com as Retailer Sues Businesses for Using the Term ‘Backcountry’

The problem, and mistake here is that they were given a TM for this word. After the fact, the laws of trademarking should be followed, and its clear that BC did it for this purpose. However, it is very tasteless and uncharming and I completely agree with the boycot.

Behind the Numbers: Marin Mount Vision Suspension Analysis

Interesting. Although, why adress potential stiffness issues based on looks alone, when the suspension analysis is to numerical? Frame stiffness can also be measured? Frame stiffness should be left out of the equation for suspension analysis. Unless you add a chapter of frame stiffness for all the bikes, with real numbers. Also, I struggle to find the six links? I see 4 pivot points in addition to the pivot for the slider.

The cross sectional shape's benefit in the Spank rims is very easy to demonstrate. It increases the second moment of area of the cross section, thus making them stiffer without adding material. Imagine bending a ruler flat and then upright... which is stiffer?
