Praxis Unveils New Folding Cog Gearbox - Sea Otter 2025
I do applause the engineering behind this idea. It's great to see that gearboxes are not just all 100K purse hype.
That said... I'm a bit concerned about the bolting standard for these ones. Effigear had the issue when confronted to frame manufacturers: Pinion set a standard years ago, and Effigear had to go for their Mimic version afterwards, that was sticking to the standard. (short version of the story)
Gearboxes are quite trickier to sell than deraileurs options, so you're note gonna have as many mounting options as gearbox manufacturers. Dunno if Praxis is THAT much involved with a major frame manufacturer to get their own standard a market standard.
