Some truth there, but IME, most small businesses would love to become big businesses!

Review: Shimano XT 8220 Brakes - More Consistency, Same Value
Can I get an amen on this?! It’s a feature that looks great on the showroom floor, and works like shite on the trail. I’ll probably die using my older XT brakes on every “real” mtb in my quiver.

Mountain Bike Pioneer Charlie Cunningham Passes Away
RIP Charlie, what a contributor to the sport. For anybody interested, MBA just did a great interview/feature with his wife Jacquie Phelan.

First Ride: A Lot Has Changed About The New Revel Ranger
Given the uninspiring pedaling dynamics reported by @Dario-DiGiulio, it seems like Revel squandered a good part of the available CBF magic?

First Ride: The 2026 Santa Cruz Tallboy Has Been Fully Reinvented, But Remains a Joy
Cookie cutter 4-bar bike. Probably rides great, but loses its defining characteristic. It’s a modern-day Fuel EX from back when that bike was 130/140, and possibly the best Swiss Army Knife of a bike ever, and not a porker!

Pivot's New Mach 4 SL Adds Capability, Not Weight
Ordered. Gave up waiting for an XL Ripley SL. Always about two weeks out. Since early Feb. I exaggerate only a little.
Stoked to see a bit more material in this new one (as requested by team riders FWIW). Less flex is more important to me than four ounces of weight — and especially glad to see two “upper struts” or whatever term on the rear triangle. The single strut approach of the Rip SL had me wondering….
Chainstays a wee bit short, but I’m all torso, so it really doesn’t matter.
