I remember being a poor single father, driving my 12 year old son and his 13 year old friend across 2 states to nationals to race junior MTB races. My son finished top 20 (I was sitting there watching all the laps and monitoring his position). The results sheet showed that he did one less lap than he actually did, therefore he was like 80th. I found an official and explained the situation. The officials wouldn't change the results and they really didn't care at all. I sent an email when we got back home, and no one ever replied. We never went back to a USA cycling event.That was in 2012 and I haven't spent another $1 with USA Cycling. They do not appreciate the sacrifice families make to make it to these events. As a person who has raced numerous cycling disciplines since 1983 I can say the "organization" doesn't provide a product worth the price tag. How many American talents have been ignored by USA Cycling? I think that is why there are 10 elite entrants.

@TheR: those were just examples of how things used to be more “free ride” and now they seem to be more “18 foot wide gravel sidewalks perfectly manicured” green flow trails. Whatever, things change
